Instructor Plus

Archery GB’s Instructor Plus course is designed for instructors who aim to develop archers beyond the introductory level. This course focuses on enhancing participants’ skills and knowledge, enabling them to coach archers who have already experienced a taster or have-a-go session. The course covers advanced shooting techniques, including the use of sights, safety management, session planning, and equipment maintenance, with a particular emphasis on shooting at distances up to 20m. The course will also enable instructors to work with new archers over six sessions to enable greater development.

Course includes:

  • Developing an archer’s shooting form over greater distances (up to 20m) and with the use of a bow sight
  • Designing and delivering engaging and varied archery sessions (up to six sessions per archer)
  • Developing comprehensive understanding and implementation of safety protocols
  • Kit maintenance and basic repair of recurve bows and related equipment
  • Providing continuous assessment and constructive feedback to support archers’ progression

NSRA Air Rifles YPS Tutor’s Diploma (26th – 27th September 2026)

The standard course for “taster” sessions in air rifle shooting is the NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutor’s Diploma. This equips candidates to run have-a-go sessions in air rifle shooting and also to take young people for an introduction to shooting over a longer period (as in Scouts or other uniformed groups). It is the standard qualification used by members of the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA) and also written into Scout POR’s (operating procedures).
