Take Aim & Build Confidence

Archery at Frylands Wood is a fun and rewarding activity that helps participants develop focus, coordination and confidence in a safe outdoor environment.

Sessions take place on either our permanent outdoor range at the bottom of the activity field or our temporary range on Farleigh Field, depending on group size and availability.

We use a range of bows suitable for different ages and abilities, from 48โ€ / 12lb bows up to 66โ€ / 18lb bows, along with 32-inch arrows.

Instructor-Led Sessions

When led by a Frylands Wood instructor, sessions are designed to help participants gradually build their skills and confidence.

Sessions typically include:

  • Introduction to equipment and range safety
  • Basic shooting technique and aiming skills
  • Opportunities to practise and improve accuracy
  • Fun games and challenges using newly developed skills

Our instructors ensure every session is run in a safe, supportive and enjoyable way. We ask group leaders to support by helping manage participant behaviour throughout the activity.

Self-Led Sessions

Groups may also run their own archery sessions using qualified instructors.

Before your visit, groups must:

  • Provide copies of relevant permits or qualifications in advance (where required)
  • Read, understand and sign the relevant Conditions of Use documentation

During self-led sessions, group leaders and instructors are responsible for:

  • Safe setup and supervision of the activity
  • Managing participant behaviour
  • Ensuring the session is delivered safely at all times

Safety & Requirements

  • Minimum age: 5+
